When Paul was 18 years old, he entered the Royal Service as a footman at Buckingham Palace. He was selected to serve as Queen Elizabeth II’s footman a year later.

Paul Burrell, Princess Diana’s butler, recently disclosed he has prostate cancer and voiced worry that he could not make it to Christmas next year.
Paul was not unwell at the time this poem was written, however, since he is not confined to a bed due to cancer.
The 64-year-old delivered an emotional interview on Monday’s Lorraine Kelly show on ITV. He was forthright about telling Nicholas and Alexander.
While receiving a checkup for what is believed to be I’m A Celebrity All-Stars, Paul Burrell received his diagnosis the previous year. He was referred for an MRI scan and more investigation after getting blood test results that showed “quite uncommon” levels.
Dr. Hilary Jones, who joined Lorraine and Paul on the program to talk about the symptoms of prostate cancer, recommended that all men over 50 obtain a PSA test for the disease.
Paul said that his cancer was on the outside of his prostate, that it resembled a “blister,” and that if it broke, it may spread the illness.
Paul will have surgery in late February and is now receiving accelerated treatment. He has had “plenty of support,” Lorraine has assured him, and he has added, “I will get through this.”
