Nicolas Berggruen is a citizen of both the United States and Germany. Berggruen founded and is the CEO of the privately held investment company Berggruen Holdings.

The businessman revealed his lack of interest in worldly items, saying that as long as he had a decent bed to sleep in, he was pleased. However, he has never been married before.
