According to the sheriff’s office, her phone last pings at Oak Loch Trace and lasted until the phone expired or was turned off. She was missing until February 6, when her body was discovered along State Highway 316. Officials believe that’s where her phone died and turned off. Authorities initially called her a runaway, claiming there was no evidence she was being held against her will, was being physically mistreated, or had been abducted. In early February, her bones were discovered on the border of Gwinnett and Barrow counties.
According to investigators, Bryant left her naked body in the woods. Bryant resided in the same Norcross neighborhood as Morales’ family and the site of her original kidnapping, according to the warrants.
