Sue Palka’s Ethnicity and Family History
The renowned meteorologist was born in the 1950s in Erie, Pennsylvania. Her parents often took her to see her cousins, aunt, and uncle in Washington, D.C.
Since they came from a snow belt with an average of over 100 inches of snowfall every season, they liked studying the history of the region. When her uncle, aunt, and cousins informed her that schools regularly closed for as little as two inches of snow, she thought it was amusing.
Sue never would have imagined that she would be able to predict the same school-closing 2 at 5, 6, 9, 10, and 11 p.m., according to what she posted on FOX 5’s blog.
She covered storms both on the ground and from the air aboard the renowned Hurricane Hunter aircraft during her tenure as head meteorologist at FOX 5. She saw the solar eclipse in its whole in Curacao and pursued tornadoes.
“Several life events have been recorded,” the speaker said. “These include the president lighting the National Christmas Tree, hot air balloon rides, boat rides in the Tidal Basin, and, for a few years when my girls were younger, Halloween at my house.”
Sue Palka, however, says that seeing her viewers face-to-face every day to provide travel weather predictions is the greatest part.
