No one ever knew Charles Mason’s biological father.

According to certain court records, Colonel Walker Henderson Scott Sr. (1910–1954) of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, was Manson’s biological father. In 1937, an agreed judgment was reached in a paternity action filed by Kathleen Maddox.

Scott had a reputation for being a con man in the area and worked in the mills. “Colonel” was just his given name, but he frequently claimed to be an army colonel, telling Manson’s mother as much.

Kathleen had disclosed her pregnancy to Scott. He replied, “I’ve been called away on army business,” in response. Manson’s mother discovered after a few months that he had no plans to go back. Therefore, it’s possible that the criminal from Ohio never met his biological father.

Kathleen married William Eugene Manson (1909–1961), a “laborer” at a dry cleaner, while she was expecting Charles. She used to drink a lot and would send Charles to be babysat by other people. William was divorced by her on April 30, 1937. However, Charles kept William’s last name, Manson.

Luther and Kathleen were detained by the police on August 1, 1939, on charges of robbery and assault. As a result, Kathleen and Luther were sentenced to five and ten years in prison, respectively.

After that, Manson was raised in McMechen, West Virginia, at the residence of his aunt and uncle. Following her release from prison, Kathleen relocated to Charleston, West Virginia, along with her son. Manson’s mother was detained by the police once more for grand larceny, but she was able to avoid going to jail.

Manson once admitted that he burned down his school when he was nine years old. He was frequently in problems with absenteeism and small-time larceny when he was younger. Manson went to his mother after Gibault, but she would send him back to Gibault. Ten months later, he fled to Indianapolis, where in 1948 he robbed a grocery store, the first known crime he committed.

Delivering communications for Western Union was his first job. He was first arrested in 1949, but a tolerant court ordered him to Omaha, Nebraska’s Boys Town, a juvenile prison.

He Was A Victim Of Bullies

In the short time following arriving in Boys Town, Manson and fellow student Blackie Nielson stole an automobile and acquired a rifle. After that, they started robbing people with guns. Two weeks later, Manson was again taken into custody following an overnight raid on a Peoria store. The Indiana Boys institution is a rigorous reform institution that the court ordered him to attend.

It is said that Manson was frequently raped and beaten by other pupils at the school. Analysts speculate that he may have become insane at that time. After a while, young Manson and a few other pupils managed to flee the school, and soon he was robbing gas stations and trying to drive stolen cars to California. Manson attended Natural Bridge Honor Camp in October of 1951. He was apprehended after raping a youngster at knifepoint in January 1953, two years later. Manson next proceeded to Petersburg, Virginia’s Federal Reformatory. More “eight serious disciplinary offenses, three involving homosexual acts” were committed there by Kathleen’s son. He was then given a time at Chillicothe, Ohio. In May 1954, he left and moved to McMechen to live with his aunt and uncle.

The future criminal, who was born in Cincinnati, wed Rosalie Jean Willis, a hospital waitress, in January 1955. He was detained by authorities in Los Angeles for car theft in Ohio after three months. The Son of Rosalie Jean Willis and Charles Manson Killed Himself

During his adult life, Charles Manson Jr., the first son of Charles and Willis, legally changed his name to Jay White. It is said that he took this action to break from his father’s legacy. According to All That’s Interesting, White pulled over on a desolate section of Kansas roadway in 1993. There, he ended his own life with a gun. Though the reason behind the suicide of Willis and Manson’s only child remains unknown, some speculate that White’s relationship with his criminal father may have contributed to his feelings of embarrassment.

Candy Stevens, his second spouse

The head of the Manson family wed Candy Stevens or Leona Rae Musser upon their divorce from Willis and release from jail. She was initially employed by him as a prostitute. Rae had also once told lies to the jurors and judge to get her murderous husband to get a pardon.

Charles Stevens, a well-known criminal, was previously married to Candy Stevens. In the late 1950s, Stevens wed Manson; however, they divorced in the early 1960s. They had one child together.

For at least nine years, Burton, an Illinois native from Bunker Hill, had been visiting Charles behind bars. Furthermore, she promoted his innocence on other websites.

Nevertheless, Afton and Charles were unable to tie the knot when Manson’s license ran out in February 2015.

Subsequently, it was revealed that Burton’s true motivation for getting married to Manson was to use his body as a tourist attraction after his death, something she and a companion would do together. However, she clarified on her website that the reason she couldn’t wed the well-known man was because he became ill.

Despite this, Manson passed away in Bakersfield, California on November 19, 2017 at the age of 83, before he could wed Burton.

Manson was brought to Mercy Hospital in downtown Bakersfield on January 1, 2017, by the jail personnel. He claimed to have gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Manson was reportedly getting very sick, according to insiders, and TMZ said that his doctors thought he was “too weak” for surgery.

On January 6, 2017, he was allowed to return to prison with some improvement in his condition.
