How did Stefan Quandt start his Professional Career?
Quandt shifted his focus to marketing in the mid-1990s and began working as a marketing manager for Datacard Group in Hong Kong. In the early 1980s, he got little more than 17% of BMW from his father, along with several other major holdings.
Delton AG, his holding firm, supervises them all. Furthermore, he owned around 20% of the equity in the digital security business Gemplus International until 2006.
Quandt was appointed to the board in 1997 and has served as its deputy chairwoman since 1999. His contract expires in 2024.
Quandt is now a member of BMW’s supervisory board and formerly served on the boards of Dresdner Bank AG and Gerling Konzern Allgemeine Versicherungs AG. His mother and sister also have shares in many other companies, including BMW.
