Wolfram and Isabelle Wawrinka have four children, including Stan Wawrinka. Stan is the oldest brother of two younger sisters. His younger sisters, like his brother, were tennis players.
Stan’s sisters have always been there to support their elder brother Stan, despite their sabbatical from tennis. Stanislas Wawrinka is a professional tennis player from Switzerland who reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 3 on January 27, 2014. He began participating in international junior races when he was 14 years old and turned professional in 2002.
When Novak Djokovic had to quit from the Croatia Open Umag owing to tiredness, he won his maiden ATP title. Wawrinka also has three Grand Slam titles, all of which he won by defeating the world No. 1 in the final. He also competed for his country in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where he won gold in doubles with Roger Federer. He also played a key role in the 2014 Davis Cup victory.

Stan was born in Switzerland to a Swiss mother and a German father, giving him dual Swiss-German citizenship. His father, Wolfram Wawrinka, is a farmer and social worker of Czech descent. Isabelle Wawrinka, his mother, is a teacher. She also works with people with disabilities as a biodynamic farmer. Later, the pair bought “Ferme du Château,” a farm near Lausanne originally run by Wolfram’s parents.
They also cared for mentally ill people, allowing them to live independently and work on the family farm. Stan was raised on a farm by parents who did not appreciate sports, but this did not stop him from following his dream of being a professional tennis player. Stan and his brother would play tennis at the local tennis club. Furthermore, the pro tennis player appreciates his parents’ efforts to provide for him and his siblings.

Tennis runs in the Wawrinka family. Stan has three siblings, all of whom have previously played professional tennis. His older brother, Jonathan, is a former professional tennis player with a rating of 948. In 2020, he will establish the Wawrinka Academy to assist developing stars in achieving their goals.
John, three years Stan’s senior, used to play together as a child, but they no longer spoke to one another. Similarly, his younger sister, Naélla Wawrinka, was a right-handed tennis player who participated in women’s singles from 2009 to 2010.
His other sister, Djanaée Wawrinka, is a former tennis player who has been the Head of Communication at EPFL since 2019. Despite their retirement from the professional tennis scene, the Wawrinka sisters have been outspoken in their support for their brother, who is enjoying a successful career.
