Sean Redman, the bassist of the band, has been charged with statutory rape and abuse, prompting the group to react promptly and decisively.
The band made it abundantly clear in a succinct yet impactful message that was published on their official Instagram account that they neither supported nor tolerated such conduct.
As a result, the band promptly declared the divorce of Sean Redman from the organization, thereby severing all professional connections.
The seriousness of the accusations became apparent on July 15, 2020, when Clementine Creevy of Cherry Glazerr courageously documented her experience of purported sexual misconduct and statutory rape involving Sean Redman on Instagram.
The band promptly and persistently issued a statement expressing their strong disapproval of Sean’s conduct.
Furthermore, in the aftermath of the revelations, their record label, Innovative Leisure, promptly severed all connections with The Buttertones.
Following this, The Buttertones encountered an additional obstacle in the form of saxophonist London Guzman’s declaration of separation, which resulted in Richard and Cobi being the sole remaining members.

Clementine Creevy, the lead vocalist of Cherry Glazerr, issued a grave allegation against Sean Redman, a member of the Buttertones, via Instagram in July 2022.
She disclosed that their relationship began at the tender age of 14, while Redman was already 20 years old. During their encounter at a Hollywood music workshop, Redman requested Creevy’s contact information and initiated textual exchanges.
At first, Creevy presented false information regarding her age, stating that she was sixteen. In response, Redman dismissively remarked that he felt like a child.
Ultimately, they encountered at Redman’s flat, where he contentedly engaged in physical intimacy with Creevy. She endured her confusion and unease despite her reluctance to object.
Creevy’s statement illuminates the illicit character of their partnership, emphasizing that it meets the criteria for statutory rape on account of the age disparity.
Furthermore, she characterizes Redman’s treatment of her as antagonistic, self-centered, and inconsiderate of her feminist convictions.
Creevy was unexpectedly exposed to sexually transmitted infections when Redman engaged in unprotected sexual activity during his infidelity. Redman is characterized by Creevy as a predator and narcissist.
