In another heartfelt tribute, New Jersey native Jeff Wakefield described Jerome as a funny guy who taught him a lot about life.
“Rest easy, Rome! Throw flags for misbehavior up there, too! Throughout my sporting career, I’ve been encouraged to be modest and shut my mouth! But after the game, he informed me that he enjoyed watching me play and thought some of the things I said were amusing!!! Rest easy, my man!”
