His final Instagram post featured his girlfriend. Since then, the defenceman has tried to keep his social media presence low-key. Foote is the son of Adam Foote, a former NHL player and current assistant coach with the Vancouver Canucks. Adam had an excellent reputation as a defenseman during his NHL career, making it difficult for Cal to match.

Foote has struggled to make an impact in the NHL since debuting with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020. And now, the 25-year-old appears to be involved in a police investigation into the sexual assaults of five Canadian World Junior Team members in 2018.

Cal Foote Wife: Is He Married to Girlfriend Julia Wrobel?

Cal Foote, the New Jersey Devils’ defenceman, does not have a wife and is not married to his girlfriend Julia Wrobel. The couple has tried to keep their relationship as private as possible. The couple made their relationship public in October 2022. On Instagram, the hockey player posted a selfie with Julia, who was most likely attending an afternoon dinner gathering.

Wrobel wore a small blue floral dress, while Foote dressed in a blue suit and white shirt. The hockey player elected not to wear a tie, resulting in a relaxed appearance. Cal captioned the photo with a single red heart emoji, while Julia replied with a happy heart emoji. Cal’s second image of himself and Julia was posted on August 31, 2023.

They donned color-coordinated attire to a function at Whistle Bear Golf Club. Cal has set a comment limit for his farewell Instagram post. If Julia’s Instagram account had been made public, we could have known more about her. Julia’s surname, Wrobel, has Polish origins, so it’s not surprising that her family finally moved to the United States.

Cal Foote Carrer at Risk?

Cal Foote, 25, made his NHL debut against the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2020 season. The Tampa Bay Lightning drafted the defenceman 14th overall in the 2017 NHL Draft. Foote began his AHL career with the Syracuse Crunch before advancing to the NHL. The Kelowna Rockets had previously selected Foot for the Western Hockey League (WHL).

Foote competed in 202 Rockets games and scored 163 points from 2015 to 2017. Cal played 155 games for Syracuse and scored 64 points. Cal appeared in 35 games for the Lightning during his first season but made no notable contributions. The Lightning traded Foote to the Nashville Predators midway through the 2022 season in exchange for Tanner Jeannot.

Foote appeared in 24 games for the Nashville Predators before joining the New Jersey Devils in 2023. Even though his career has yet to take off, Foote appears to have already soiled his image. Foote and colleague Michael McLeod have been granted an indefinite leave of absence from the squad.

The New Jersey Devils announced on Wednesday. The action came after The Globe and Mail reported that five players of the 2018 junior hockey team were set to face sexual assault charges in London, Ontario, Canada.

Cal Foote Case

The initial investigation began in 2018, with the report of a terrible group sexual assault. The story first broke in 2020, when a woman claimed to be intoxicated when she returned to her hotel room and was sexually assaulted by five men. Hockey Canada settled the dispute to protect the reputation of their beloved sport.

However, in July 2022, the case was reopened following widespread public outrage. Finally, The Globe and Mail reported on Wednesday that officials had encouraged five members of the 2018 team to surrender. Three hours after the news emerged, Michael McLeod and Cal, who were on the 2018 team, were reported to be on temporary leave.

Carter Hart of the Flyers, Dillon Dube of the Flames, and Alex Formenton, who has taken leave from his European team HC Ambrí-Piotta to return to Canada, are the three remaining players out of action.
