He passed away in an automobile accident on November 30, 2013. Speaking about his choice to name his daughter after his deceased friend, Vin said the idea came to him right before he cut the cord.
Speaking with Today, he stated,
He was within the space. While I was severing this umbilical chord, I wasn’t thinking about anyone else. I simply knew that he was present. It seemed like a means of preserving his memory inside my family and my surroundings.

Like every other parent, Vin takes pride in his paternity. He is immensely appreciative that his kids allowed him to experience fatherhood. Vin stated in an interview with PEOPLE magazine,
My level of pride in my children is immense. Oh my God, they always make me proud. The last time it was all uttered in one sentence was when Pauline exclaimed, “Merry Christmas everyone, from the Diesels.” That moment was significant.
In the same interview, the renowned actor disclosed that his daughter has chosen the music she will play at every burial. He declared,
A few weeks ago, my daughter Similce told me, ‘Daddy, I know what song should [play] at every funeral.’ What is that, I asked? “See You Again,” she then said.
Her Parents Have Been Married for Several Years
Paloma Jiménez and Vin Diesel, Pauline’s parents, have been married for a long time. When they started dating in 2007, Jimenez was 24 years old and Vin was approximately 40.
After more than 14 years of dating, the couple’s love for one another has only grown. Vin was even accused of cheating on Paloma back in 2016, which turned out to be a total fabrication. Rather, it appears that the accusation has only deepened their relationship, as Vin issued a forceful statement in response to the rumors. He declared,
“She is everything.” The ideal mother. She is incredibly gorgeous and lovely in so many ways, but many don’t know that she is also my rock, which makes her extremely beautiful on the inside.
They have been dating for a while, but they haven’t decided to get married just yet. We do, however, hope to witness them as husband and wife soon.
