Michael Badgley, the Lions’ placekicker, has no wife and is unmarried. Michael, a 28-year-old resident of Summit, New Jersey, has never revealed much about his personal life. The NFL athlete began his career at Summit High School, where he competed in numerous sports.
He played hockey, lacrosse, and football, and won one state championship in each sport. He was named the top kicker in the 247Sports Composite Ranking and then joined the FUMA post-graduate program. Badgley arrived at Miami in 2014 and set a school record with 25 field goals in his second year.
Later in the season, he received an ACSMA All-ACC Honourable Mention. During his senior year, Badgley became Miami’s all-time field goal leader and was a Lou Groza Award semifinalist. Despite his college accomplishments, Badgley went undrafted and was finally chosen by the Colts.
The Colts released him before the start of the 2018 season, and he signed with the Chargers. He remained with the Chargers until the 2020 season. Since then, Badgley has signed with several NFL teams, including the Bears and Titans. Michael has yet to discuss his family life on Instagram.

The football player is the Badgley family’s middle child. Chris and Leanne Badgley have two sons, including a 5’10 kicker. Michael has a younger sister, Jamie, and an elder brother, Peter. Michael’s father, Chris Badgley, is a Hobart and Williams Smith College alumni. He was a production artist for American Express before joining RCI Group in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Since 2004, Chris has been Command Financial’s Vice President of Sales. Leanne and Chris are active on Facebook and have shared numerous family photos. Michael’s elder brother, Pete Badgley, graduated from Providence College and is Upside’s Founder and COO.
He launched the firm in Miami in 2019, having previously worked as a Capital Markets Analyst for Jones Lang LaSalle. Pete married his long-time love, Erica, in 2021 and is active on Instagram. Pete is not an athlete like his brother, but he is equally passionate about fitness.
