The Arizona Coyotes signed him three times, but he never made an impact. When Alex returned to the Coyotes earlier this year, he was arrested on multiple charges. A week after the incident, the American-born Belarusian player issued an apology. However, bodycam footage from the altercation has since surfaced online, revealing the former NHL player threatening the police officer and their families.

Alex Galchenyuk asked the police officer to let him go to his pregnant wife. Galchenyuk has kept his marital life private because he does not use social media. This is also possibly the first time the former Penguins star has told his fans that he is now married. Galchenyuk’s father was interacting with police officers on the sidewalk before being detained.
Alex threatened one of the cops from his BMW’s passenger seat and tried to take something. Alex repeatedly begged the police officers to let him go home to see his pregnant wife, prompting them to remove him from his vehicle. Alex was previously believed to be seeing a lady named Chanel Leszczynski in 2016, but we do not believe Chanel is Alex’s current girlfriend.
And there’s a strong reason for it. Chanel was arrested in 2016 after being accused of domestic violence against Alex. Chanel arrived at Alex’s house party and began punching him. His partner, Devante Smith-Pelley, and other partygoers rushed to his aid, calling 911.
Alex shared a few love tweets with a lady on X (previously Twitter) in 2019. He also tagged her in the photos, using the woman’s account, @jtara__. But we don’t know if she’s Alex’s present companion.
Alex Galchenyuk’s Mental Health Update
After video of Alex’s detention surfaced online, many NHL fans questioned his mental state. After being imprisoned on July 9, Alex apologised on his X account. Former Coyotes player Alex Galchenyuk has apologised for his arrogant and rude behaviour. He also stated that he was registering for the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Programme.
However, given his history, Alex may have previously suffered from anxiety or drug abuse. In 2017, his then-manager, Mario Tremblay, said that the former Canadiens forward had been in and out of treatment twice. Tremblay then declined to answer the question, fearing the consequences of publicising Alex’s status in public.
Many people felt Tremblay’s actions would prevent a player from seeking help and staying in hiding. Alex was also involved in the BellCause campaign in 2017. He shared a photo of himself carrying the BellCause sign and stated, “Mental health is incredibly important, and you should have NO fear talking about it.”
