Walsh secured his first major role the following year, portraying Louis Klein in the ABC crime drama series “Gabriel’s Fire.” The program concluded after a single season. In the latter half of the decade, from 1997 to 1998, Walsh appeared in another brief-lived series, the CBS police drama “Brooklyn South.”

He portrayed the estranged son of Paul Newman’s character in “Nobody’s Fool” the following year and was the sibling of William McNamara’s character in “Radio Inside.”

Walsh’s other notable credits during the 1990s include the science-fiction action film “Congo,” in which he portrays a California primatologist; the indie drama “Men,” in which he portrays the alcoholic ex-boyfriend of Sean Young’s character; and the action film “Final Voyage,” in which he stars as a cruise ship passenger who is compelled to confront a gang of modern-day pirates.

In 2002, Dylan was featured in the war film “We Were Soldiers,” which starred Mel Gibson, and the mystery thriller “Blood Work” directed by Clint Eastwood. He subsequently shared the screen with Alison Eastwood in the action film “Power Play.”
