A 21-year-old man was killed in a skiing accident on Wednesday at Cannon Mountain in Franconia, New Hampshire, marking the second death in the Granite State in the previous three days.

According to The Boston Globe, Cannon Mountain Ski Patrol received a complaint of a missing skier just before 2:15 p.m. who had been separated from his friends for around 90 minutes.

After conducting an investigation, the skier was discovered in the “Upper Ravine” slope’s trees. Although the individual had significant damage, he showed “no indications of life,” a resort spokeswoman informed the Boston Globe in an email on Saturday.

Bennett, a neuroscience student at the University of New Hampshire, was “killed unexpectedly in a skiing accident at Cannon Mountain on January 18, 2023,” according to his obituary.

Bennett was remembered as a person who “lived his life to the fullest” and was regarded by others as “funny, kind, kind, intellectual, and hardworking,” according to his obituary.

His obituary states that despite being labeled “the class clown” in high school, he was very driven and graduated as valedictorian.

He spent time with his friends and family while working toward his goal of becoming a neurosurgeon. Bennett’s parents and 12 siblings are still alive.

According to the obituary, “He enjoyed everything outdoors, especially sunset treks, kayaking, riding, and skiing.” Everyone who knew him will really miss him.

Two days before to his tragedy, a 15-year-old kid died in a skiing accident at Gunstock Mountain in Gilford, New Hampshire.

Principal Anthony Sperazzo identified the victim as Gilford High School student Sydnie Quimby, according to The Boston Globe.
