Jordan Peterson, the former Kansas Jayhawks coach, has said goodbye to his team after four seasons. The co-defensive coordinator will now be the co-cornerbacks coach at Texas A&M. Jordan, who graduated from Texas A&M in 2009, is back for a second spell.
Jordan, a former safety, has been nominated to the All-Big 12 Academic First Team twice. His coaching experience has included spells at Fresno State, New Mexico, and, most recently, the University of Kansas. This is Coach Elko’s second time hiring a coach from a Kansas university. He previously hired Collin Klein, KSU’s offensive coordinator.

Jordan Peterson’s wife, Missy Peterson, is a Katy, Texas native. The Peterson family presently resides in Lawrence, Texas. Missy Peterson, 36, and the football coach married the knot in 2011. Jordan’s social media page has featured numerous tributes to his wife and the mother of his three children.
Last Mother’s Day, Jordan tweeted a photo of Missy with their three daughters, all dressed in white. He captioned the image, “To the woman who always prioritizes our children and family, who works tirelessly to make things happen, and who is the ultimate supporter of us all.”

Jordan frequently makes posts like this. He posts these thank-you messages on both his Facebook and X accounts. Ellie Rose Peterson, the couple’s first child, was born April 5, 2014. Previously, Jordan had posted multiple photos of his firstborn on his X account to celebrate her birthday.
The couple’s second child, Emery, was born in early 2018. Missy announced on Facebook on May 11, 2019, that they were expecting their third child. Missy was seen holding Emery and flashing the sonogram photographs. Ellie was seen holding a banner that read, “BABY SHARK, DUE DUE DUE, SEPTEMBER 2019.”
On September 27, 2019, the Peterson family welcomed their third child, Everly. Previously, the Kansas Football team included the Peterson family in a Mother’s Day film. Jordan is seen in the video asking his three daughters about their mother’s favorite foods and activities. Emery, the middle child, quickly answered both questions. She also revealed that her mother’s favorite activity is taking photographs.
Coach Jordan Peterson’s Career
Coach Jordan Peterson earned a Sports Management degree from Texas A&M in 2009. He received his master’s degree a year later. Peterson, a safety, made 81 tackles and broke up 15 passes during his time at Texas A&M. Before joining Fresno State, Jordan worked as a graduate assistant with the Aggies for two years.
Jordan became the Outside Linebackers coach at Fresno State, where he helped safety Phillip Thomas win the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year title. Peterson coached Fresno for five seasons, guiding the Bulldogs to three consecutive bowl appearances, including the 2014 Mountain West Championship and the 2013 Mountain West Championship.
Jordan left Fresno to become the safeties coach at New Mexico. In 2019, he was promoted to defensive coordinator. He joined Kansas in 2020 and started as the safeties coach. In 2021, he was promoted to defensive analyst, which increased his responsibilities. He was elevated to Co-Defensive Coordinator at Kansas at the end of 2023, but the move did not last long.
