Kellie Pickler

Kyle Jacobs, Kellie Pickler’s husband and fellow musician, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Friday, February 17. The incident occurred at approximately 1:21 p.m., and officers were dispatched to Pickler’s apartment immediately.

Kyle and Kellie had been married for a long time and did not have any children. Although the circumstances surrounding Jacobs’ suicide are unknown, Kellie told police that her husband had been missing since she awoke. When Pickler’s aide couldn’t get the upstairs bedroom door open, she called the cops.

News Channel 5’s Henry Rothenberg paid tribute to Jacobs on Facebook by uploading a video and writing,

“You will be missed, Kyle Jacobs, for your companionship and talent for bringing people together through music.”

Kyle’s most recent Instagram post featured a photo of Lee Brice’s album Hello World, along with the announcement that it had been certified platinum. Jacobs expressed his joy at the news, saying he was a part of the record and felt privileged to have been a part of it.

Kyle Jacobs and Kellie Pickler’s relationship

Kellie Pickler and Kyle Jacobs first met through a mutual acquaintance in 2008. Jacobs proposed to Pickler in 2010, and the couple got engaged and married in 2011. Pickler later revealed on Instagram in 2017 that the proposal took place on June 15, 2010, which also happened to be her grandmother’s birthday. She stated,

“Kyle and I were in Rosemary Beach, [Florida], on what he called a ‘vacation’ on that day in 2010. We went for a sunset walk on the beach after a romantic dinner… I had no idea he’d secretly buried a small wooden box in the sand.”

The box also contained a notebook written by Jacobs, a seashell with Kellie’s grandmother’s name engraved on it, and an engagement ring. Pickler later spoke with Us Weekly about her desire to expand her family. She stated at the time,

“We have two puppies. We are dog parents for the time being.”

Kyle Jacobs was a well-known musician

Kyle Jacobs rose to prominence as a Curb Records composer, where he stayed until his death. Songs written by the Bloomington, Minnesota native have been recorded by Trace Adkins, Tim McGraw, Clay Walker, Scott McCreery, and others. Jacobs is best known for co-writing Garth Brooks’ hit More Than a Memory.

In August 2007, the record debuted at the top of the Billboard charts. Jacobs has collaborated with a number of well-known musicians, including Darius Rucker and Wynonna Judd. When he died, he was 49 years old.
