More than a year after she was killed, Dmitry Korovin, the deceased’s “jealous” ex-boyfriend, admitted to killing her by strangling her over a money disagreement in Moscow that had nothing to do with her political views or her political analysis of Putin.
He admitted to interrogators that he kept her body in a hotel room for three nights in a recently purchased bag. He traveled 300 kilometers to the Lipetsk region after that, where he hid it for over a year in the trunk of a car. To reassure the model’s friends that she was still alive, detectives posted images and remarks on her social media pages.
How was the body of Gretta Vedler located?
A blogger from Kharkiv, Ukraine, named Evgeniy Foster became suspicious and called a friend in Moscow, who then reported her missing.
This sparked a multi-day search that resulted in the discovery of her body. In a video made public by Russia’s Investigative Committee, Korovin allegedly offered a full confession and demonstrated how he killed the model. Her concerns were sparked by his suppression of protesters and desire to expand Russia. The Daily Mail claims that because Putin was humiliated as a child, he was unable to defend himself and, after graduating from law school, quit to join the KGB. Gretta Vedler asserts that because these people are scared of noise, darkness, and strangers, they develop traits like caution, restraint, and a lack of communication from an early age.
