It is believed that the 34-year-old woman from Scunthorpe and her three-year-old son got into a car accident on the A180 close to Immingham. On Friday at 8:45 p.m., a vehicle recalled dodging the “stranded” blue Ford Focus and reported it to the police. However, at 9.06 p.m., a white articulated vehicle struck the halted automobile, immediately killing Nicola and Lucas.
Before the crash, a lady said she had to “swerve” in the pitch black to avoid Nicola’s disabled car and called for help. The Ford Focus was “stranded” in the left lane of the dual carriageway, according to witnesses, before being struck by an HGV.
To help with their investigation into the crash, police are asking witnesses to come forward. The Independent Office of Police Complaints (IOPC) has received a complaint from Humberside Police about the incident. It is our responsibility to protect the Scunthorpe family’s privacy today since many individuals have paid homage to them to convey their sadness over the tragic loss.
Honoring the Mother and the Child After the A180 Crash
The flow of condolences has begun for the Scunthorpe family’s victims. Many people will miss one of Nicola’s “best” friends and her child terribly, according to a friend who wrote a moving eulogy.
Another memorial described the victim as being in complete shock after learning of the murders of her close friend Nicola Courtney and the infant Lucas. They said that they would go. Others wished Nicola’s other children, who are presently without a mother, well. What an awful accident, the message stated. The news makes me very sad. Luis and Nicola, may you rest in peace.
“I feel a great deal of pain for their friends and family. They are on my mind and in my prayers at this challenging time. I can only send love and light to the sad boys who lost their mothers.
A representative for Humberside Police said that highly trained officers and associated organizations continue to provide support to the victims’ relatives. They have asked that their privacy be maintained while they are going through this very difficult period.
