About Julie Mugford Married Life

Julie Mugford

Julie Mugford as he lamented the loss of his family. Jeremy’s adoptive parents, Neville and June, his adoptive sister, Sheila Caffell, and her twin sons, Daniel and Nicholas Caffell, had all died at the time, and the authorities had declared their deaths to be a murder-suicide.

Authorities thought that Sheila, a psychotic, first shot her entire family before killing herself. Julie Mugford later amended her testimony, blaming her ex-boyfriend Jeremy Bamber for the incident. Prosecutors continued their investigation and discovered sufficient proof to accuse Jeremy and persuade the jury of his guilt.

Mugford is a Canadian education officer who has a calm life with her spouse Glen. Julie gave her damning testimony and then departed abroad. In 1990, she visited Australia and there she met Glen Smerchanski, her future husband.

The couple got married, moved to Winnipeg, Canada, and had two now-adult children. Before being promoted to deputy head of a primary school, Julie found employment as a special needs teacher. She is now employed in Winnipeg as an education officer.

One of her neighbors told The Daily Mail that “she’s rebuilt her life.” She occasionally isn’t the same person. She and Glen make an attractive couple. Although Julie lives thousands of miles from Britain, she can’t shake the memory of the White House Farm killings.

Glen remarked,

Julie simply wants it would all be over so we could move on with our lives.”

Julie sold her story to News of the World before leaving Britain for an estimated 25,000 pounds, which was a sizable sum at the time. Even though Jeremy did little to conceal his infidelity, she admitted to the source that she was completely smitten with him.

Julie claimed that she wanted to clear her conscience more than she wanted to exact revenge. She did it while knowing that Bamber would receive a prison sentence.

According to Julie, who spoke to News of the World,

“I felt I was on the verge of a collapse and that soon I would have to inform the police.” “That implied that I would be held accountable for locking up the man I loved, possibly for the rest of his life. Death would undoubtedly be preferable to that.”

Julie continues to receive calls from organizations that maintain Jeremy Bamber is innocent. Jeremy Bamber is without a doubt the perpetrator of the White House Farm Murders, according to Julie. Julie stated in a 2000 interview,

“I assumed that this was long ago. No changes have been made in my opinion. I genuinely think he is at fault. Do I maintain my account? Yes, without a doubt.”

Not everyone shares Julie’s conviction. Among them is Trudi Benjamin, who founded The JB Battle Ltd., a group created to gather money to support the campaign for Jeremy’s release.

Trudi posts on the Campaign’s website,

“I know Jeremy did not and could not have killed his family.”

“Jeremy loved his family very much.”

Benjamin asserts that Julie provided her evidence to escape going to jail for the crimes she was suspected of doing and to exact revenge on Jeremy for his adultery. Families who testified against Jeremy are harassed by organizations calling for his release regularly, including Julie and other family members.

Although the murders took place almost forty years ago, they continue to appear to be a constant in Julie’s life. The murders at the White House Farm seem to be the subject of endless interest.

In the documentary The Bambers: Murder Towards The Farm, which was released at the end of September 2021, journalist Louis Theroux asserts that he is no longer certain that Jeremy was responsible for the killings.

We’re not in the domain of perfect assurance, Louis continues,

because of the nature of the case.”

His claims will energize the Bamber release activists. Julie’s involvement in the case will make any light shed on it cast a shadow over her life, therefore it might also act against her.
