Mountain biker Patricio Escobar was hurt in a collision. This is what happened.
When Patricio was 15 years old, he began competing in bike races. He blended cross-country and downhill riding in the beginning (1993).
Two years later, at the age of 17, he developed a fresh interest in the trials bike. After that, he had some of his finest riding experiences and talents throughout a 20-year collaboration.
The majority of how he stays in touch with the bike is via his YouTube account, where all of the movies are edited and controlled with only a mouse that he operates with his head.

A mountain biker from Colombia named Patricio had an injury in October 2019 while riding an MTB.
On October 12, while out for a training ride on his mountain bike with friends, he was in an accident and shattered his C3 and C4 vertebrae.
After being brought to the hospital in Bogota, he had to wait for the swelling to go down before undergoing surgery to fuse his C3, C4, and C5 vertebrae to stabilize the region.
He still doesn’t have sensation in his arms or legs, and it’s unclear what the future holds for him, but with an injury, a major recovery will take some time.
Because of his time in Australia, Patricio is a well-known personality in the Queensland trials scene and a close friend of ExpressiveBikes, as they said in a Facebook post after his accident.
An update on Patricio Escobar’s health and injuries
Downhill biker and bike triathlete Patricio Escobar had a life-changing accident in 2019 that had an effect on his career and society as a whole.
The C3, C4, and C5 vertebrae of Patricio were broken, changing the course of his life and leaving him quadriplegic (unable to move anything below the level of his chest).
A fundraiser has been planned in support of his recuperation. The purpose of this fundraising is to help Patricio, his family, and his children cope with the challenges they will face.
Then, throughout his short three-year career on the enduro bike, Escobar achieved a number of noteworthy exploits, like taking home the 2017 National Enduro Masters Cup and finishing second in the 2018 EWS Manizales Colombia.
The maximization of his recuperation is his current main objective. Additionally, he uploaded a video on his Instagram account on October 20, 2022, detailing his three-year fight.
“3 years ago today when he faced the choice between life or death and he chose the first one,” he wrote as the caption. He made the decision to live, and he wants others to keep that in mind today.
He said that he also wants them to experience the motivation that motivates him to get up and shine every day. Even though it would have been far easier to choose death, things that require the greatest effort are usually the most rewarding. As a result, making a little addition is better than taking no action.
