The management of Bobby, YG Entertainment, has denied repeated claims that the idol left the business and the band. The agency informed Joy News24 that the reports were false without going into too much detail.
This comes after KpopHerald’s exclusive report on November 15 revealed that Bobby would not be renewing his contract with YG Entertainment. A YG official who wishes to remain unnamed provided the information for the story.

Despite widespread discussion online, a YG representative told Newsen that the claims regarding the rapper’s separation from the agency and iKON were untrue. According to the representative:
The YG representative did not specify Bobby’s or the other iKON members’ exclusive contract expiration dates or whether they intended to extend them.
Bobby and the other members of the group have not yet commented on the incident, but they stated during a press conference for their fourth mini-album Flashback in May that they had not yet finished discussing their contracts with the agency.
Bobby debuted as a member of iKON in 2015, and his contract with the agency is set to expire in the upcoming months.
This is in accordance with Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) laws, which state that artists may only be legally bound to their firms for a maximum of seven years before being required to renew their contracts.
Bobby, the iKON “genius”
Alongside members, Jay, Song, DK, June, Chan, and former member B.I., Kim Ji-won aka Bobby made his iKON debut as a rapper in 2015.
Since then, the idol has gained prominence for winning Mnet’s third season of the survival competition Show Me The Money, creating a number of the group’s songs, and giving powerful performances.
The group’s fourth mini-album, Flashback, features six songs that Bobby co-wrote the lyrics for and even helped the other members create.
While rumors of his resignation from the band were circulating, the phrase “In Bobby, we trust” started to trend once more.
Others claimed they would wait for official confirmation of the news, while several fans voiced their support for the musician and optimism that he would continue on his own.
Further speculation was sparked when the 26-year-old recently deleted all but one of his posts, unfollowed all iKON members, and made his Instagram account private.
