Actor Matthew Perry Will Reference Keanu Reeves In His Memoir

Matthew Perry

Future editions of Matthew Perry’s autobiography will omit “mean” references to Keanu Reeves, he has promised. In his memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Horrible Thing, the actor who portrayed Chandler Bing in the US sitcom made repeated references to the celebrity.

On two separate occasions, he inquired as to why Reeves “still walks among us” while “talented” actors such as River Phoenix had passed away.

“I said something foolish. “It was a cruel act,” Perry acknowledged.

Speaking at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, he continued, “I pulled his name because I live on the same street as him.” I have publicly apologized to him.

Future editions of the book will not contain his name.

Matthew Perry stated that he had not made restitution in person, but if he ran into the individual, he would apologize.

“It was just plain stupid,” he continued.

Last year’s publication of Perry’s autobiography detailed his career-long struggle with substance misuse and addiction.

In it, he describes Phoenix, his co-star in the 1988 film A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon, as a polymath who was “way ahead” of his time.

“Inside and out, River was a handsome man – too handsome for this society, it turned out. It always seems to be the most talented individuals who fail.

Why do original visionaries such as River Phoenix and Heath Ledger pass away, but Keanu Reeves is still among us?

Phoenix perished from a cocaine and heroin overdose at age 23 in 1993. In 2008, Heath Ledger perished from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.

Matthew Perry has already issued an apology for the remark about Reeves, explaining that he chose the John Wick actor’s name at random and was a “big fan.”

“I confess. In October, he said in a statement to People. that he should have used his own name instead.
