Chief Essig reported that the brother-in-law was able to remove a firearm from Mr. Fayaz’s hip and fired at least six bullets at the vendor as he fled.

In addition, Chief Essig notes that police used dashcam footage from Mr. Fayaz’s brother-in-law to connect the 2011 BMW to the alleged auto seller who fled.

Who Is the Murderer Adeed Fayaz?

Regarding the passing of Adeed Fayaz, Randy Jones, a 38-year-old male, has been brought into police custody.

Jones is charged with two counts of second-degree murder, one of which must have been committed during a robbery, two counts of attempted robbery, two counts of criminal possession of a firearm, and one case of first-degree murder.

Using more camera footage, detectives located Randy Jone on Monday night at a Days Inn in Nanuet, New York. The suspect, his girlfriend, and their five kids were located.

Randy was put in handcuffs that belonged to the late officer Adeed Fayaz. Chief Essig stated that the suspect’s cuffs were on him and that they wanted him to know what he had done to Mr. Fayaz. Essig noted that it will deliver a strong message.

The NYPD is looking into whether Randy Jones is related to previous instances of robberies that took place on Facebook Marketplace, including one that happened “just down the block” in early January.
