In Uvalde, Texas, on May 20, 2022, a large-scale shooting took place at Robb Elementary School. The incident resulted in the shooting deaths of 19 pupils, two teachers, and 17 additional students.

Salvador Ramos, the 18-year-old son of Adriana Reyes, committed the shooting. Ramos attended the same institution in the past.

He was carrying an AR-15-style gun on the day of the shooting, and he fired shots for almost five minutes outside the school before going inside.

He entered the building through an open door and went inside two adjoining classrooms.

Before the US Border Patrol Tactical Unit shot him, he had slain the victims and had been inside the school for about an hour.

According to Texas Police, the incident was the third deadliest in American history and the bloodiest in Texas.

Ramos shot his 66-year-old grandmother in the face the day before the incident because they had argued about a phone bill at their house. She sought assistance from neighbors after surviving the shot.
