After over ten years of dating, Ansel Elgort and Violetta Komyshan have broken up. In a recent interview, the professional dancer acknowledged that she had split with the actor after referring to herself as “single.” The former couple’s separation occurs over a year after their final red-carpet outing as a unit.
In a recent interview with E!, Komsyshan discussed her current romantic situation following the breakup of her high school romance and remarked, “I think it’s fun.”
In an interview with E! News after attending an event at the Brooklyn Museum, Violetta continued, “I also have some advice for single ladies.” “Concentrate on your career and your interests. I’m 26 years old, so this is the time to advance and concentrate on that—on yourself.”
The connection between Ansel and Violetta
Following their encounter at NYC’s LaGuardia High School, the couple began dating in 2012. In an interview with Cosmopolitan in 2017, Komyshan discussed her initial impression of Elgort and stated, “When I was with my friend [during my first year] he was strolling down the block.
I just thought he was incredibly gorgeous; I had no idea he attended my school. My companion said, “Oh, my God, that guy’s so hot,” so I said to her, “Oh, that’s Ansel, he goes to LaGuardia.”
Ansel’s Hollywood career had just started to take off when the pair called it quits after two years together. The couple experienced their fair share of ups and downs as they got together.
Despite their reconciliation, Ansel said the following about it in 2015: “I was doing OK, but I realized something was missing, and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s love.'”
Assault claims against Ansel
Six years prior, in 2020, the West Side Story actor was charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl. In a social media statement published on Instagram in June 2020, Elgort refuted the claims.
He noted: “I have never assaulted anyone and never will. What is true is that I briefly had a lawful and completely consensual relationship with Gabby in New York in 2014 when I was 20 years old.
I regret not having handled the breakup well. I stopped replying to her, which was childish and unkind of me to do. Also, I am aware that my tardy apologies do not excuse my improper behavior during my disappearance.”
