LeeAnn, Nicole, and Jamie were the three children that Jim and Pamela had. Jim and Pamela had a strong connection and were married until Jim’s passing.

Pamela had a lot of hardship following Jimmy’s passing. She experienced early widowhood. Jamie, her daughter, was 33 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Jimmy played point guard at Rutgers University throughout his college basketball career. In the 1967 National Invitation Tournament, Jimmy helps his team get third.

Jimmy started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Rutgers University after earning his degree from there. Jimmy has a prosperous coaching career working with many high schools and institutions.

While he was the head coach at North Carolina, his team won the 1983 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. He later served as the head coach at North Carolina State University.

He led NC as their head coach for over 10 years, from 1980 to 1990. In addition, he served as Johns Hopkins, Lancaster, and Bucknell’s head coach.

Jimmy began working as a sports announcer for ESPN and ABC Sports after his coaching career came to an end. For his work on the NCAA basketball broadcast, Jimmy received the Cable ACE Award for Commentator/Analyst.
