The Ex-Wife of Brendan Fraser’s Love Life

Through a mutual friend, Winona Ryder, Afton Smith, and Brendan Fraser were introduced at a Fourth of July cookout she threw in 1993. On that evening, they started dating, and they dated for the following four years before getting engaged in October 1997.

On September 27, 1998, in the garden of the Bel Air Hotel in Los Angeles, they were married in a secret ceremony attended by only their family and close friends to celebrate the near-anniversary of their initial engagement.

Together, they have three sons: Griffin Arthur Fraser, born on September 17, 2002, under the Virgo horoscope; Holden Fletcher Fraser, born on September 16, 2004; and Leland Francis Fraser, born on May 2, 2006, under the Taurus horoscope, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

For less than a year, the family lived peacefully together in a mansion in Beverly Hills, California.

What became of their union?

Brendan joined co-star Maria Bello on the set of the in some ways extremely important movie “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” in China. Afton become quite suspicious after hearing multiple unsubstantiated stories that the two had developed some sort of love chemistry while filming the movie.

Brendan was adversely affected by this, and their marriage quickly started to fall apart. The couple ultimately divorced in December of the same year after selling the aforementioned home for $3 million in April 2007.

Following the court settlement, Brendan was awarded $900,000 in mandatory alimony payments per year, divided between $50,000 monthly payments and an additional $300,000.

Fraser kept paying this amount until 2013 when he asked the court to lower it because he was struggling to make the payments due to rising medical costs associated with numerous injuries he received while pulling stunts for the camera.

Afton, on the other hand, argued before the court that Brendan was concealing a number of financial assets, claiming that he had struck it rich with some of his most recent movies.

The court eventually reduced Brendan’s alimony payments after he presented proof of vocal cord, laminectomy, and knee replacement surgery.

Is she now seeing anyone else?

Following her divorce from Brendan, Afton is not known to have had any relationships, and it is also unknown what her present situation is.

Who is her former spouse?
