Alex and Charlene Lifeson have been married since 1975. They’ve been together for 46 years and counting.
According to Alex’s official website, he has been married to his “high school sweetheart,” which means Charlene has been in his life since high school and they have been together for longer.
Most people who know Alex are aware of his marijuana addiction, as he has openly stated, “I find that smoking pot can be a fantastic creative agent.”
He, on the other hand, is strongly opposed to the usage of Ecstasy and cocaine. While discussing his drug use, he also mentioned how narcotics may have helped him “reconnect” with his wife.
He described how the two were going through a terrible time in their relationship, and that while under the euphoric effects, they danced, talked their hearts out, and eventually mended many unhealed wounds.
“We cranked up the music and started dancing, and then we talked for hours about deeply personal matters for what seemed like the first time, even though we’d been married for years,” he explained.
“We were going through a bit of a difficult moment in our relationship, and that opened up a lot of doors,” the Canadian musician continued.
Everything seemed to go flawlessly because the two have remained unbroken and together ever since. If anything, the affection seemed to have gotten stronger.
They enjoy beautiful family life with their two boys, Adrian and Justin Lifeson, who are both fully grown adults who have chosen their different courses in life.
