Alexis_Stewart

Alexis Stewart is best known as the famed entrepreneur Martha Stewart’s daughter. She has, however, created a distinct identity for herself outside of her mother’s celebrity.

Alexis Stewart is well-known as a radio personality who hosts shows such as Whatever with Alexis and Jennifer and Whatever, Martha.

Aside from her celebrity, she has struggled to be a good mother to her children.

Children of Alexis Stewart

Alexis has two children; her first child, Jude Stewart, was born on March 8, 2011, and her second child, Truman Stewart, was born on March 6, 2012. Surrogacy was used to deliver both of her children.

Alexis battled infertility for five years. Finally, at the age of 36, she chose to have children, but her fertility had already declined. She had numerous surgeries and attempted implantation three times but failed each time.

She considered adoption, but she decided to have her child. As a result, Alexis chose surrogacy, but her surrogates miscarried four times, leaving her heartbroken and despairing of ever being a mother. On October 9, 2007, she acknowledged her inability to conceive a child on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

However, after nearly five years of struggle, she became a mother, welcoming Jude Stewart. After a year, she gave birth to her son, Truman Stewart. Truman Stewart, her son, was born just before Jude’s first birthday.

Alexis has stayed out of the spotlight since the birth of her children, focusing on raising them all by herself.

Alexis discusses how she doesn’t mind parenting her children as a single mother without the presence of a man. Her children have no legal father. She is frightened that her children will have a father like hers or that she will not be there for them.

Children of Alexis Stewart and Her Mother

Alexis had a strained connection with her parents, which may have inspired her desire to be the greatest mother she can be to her children.

Parents of Alexis Stewart

Alexis Stewart is the only child of Andrew and Martha Stewart. Unfortunately, despite being the only child, she did not enjoy a happy upbringing.

When parents pay attention to and love their children, they grow well. In Alexis’s situation, however, the opposite was true. Her connection with her parents was strained. She grew up estranged from both of her parents because they never offered her much of their time. In 1990, her parents divorced.

When a youngster learns of their parent’s divorce, the news will undoubtedly influence them. It was the same with Alexis, who acknowledged to taking antidepressants in her teens in an interview with New York Magazine.

Her connection with her mother, Martha, improved over time, but her relationship with her father did not. However, Alexis has not spoken to her father, Andrew, since 1988, according to sources.

Relationship Status of Alexis Stewart

She was, however, previously married to John Cuti, who worked as a lawyer in Alexis’ mother Martha’s court cases.

The two married on September 26, 1997, in a judge’s chamber at the courthouse. Alexis desired a small wedding, thus the event was attended by only five people, including her mother, Martha.

Alexis wore a grey flannel suit to the wedding. Her mother had prepared the wedding meal, which was held at Jean Georges on Central Park West.

The marriage, however, did not last long, as the couple split in 2003 and divorced in 2004.

Interestingly, long after Alexis’ marriage ended, Martha revealed on an episode of The Martha Stewart Show that her daughter’s wedding was one of the worst days of her life.

Aside from her personal life, she has built a reputation for herself in the profession.

Alexis Stewart’s Professional Career

Alexis Stewart, 56, co-hosted the Sirius Satellite Radio program Whatever with Alexis and Jennifer. In September 2010, she co-hosted the same show on a different channel, the Hallmark Channel. Alex and her former radio partner Jennifer Hutt discussed topics ranging from personal relationships to pop culture. The show was mostly based on its title, ‘anything,’ as Alex and Jennifer would say, based on whatever they thought, read, or heard.

The third season of the show was called Whatever, You’re Wrong! and aired on Hallmark Channel on April 8, 2011. Through a post on the Whatever blog, she informed everyone that June 10, 2011, was her last day.
