Alison Botha Was Kidnapped From Her Apartment’s Parking Lot

For Alison, who was 27 years old at the time, it was a typical day because she had gone to the beach with her pals and then returned to her apartment for pizza and games. After a while, they all went back to Alison’s flat after dropping off her friend Kim at her house.

On the evening of December 18, 1994, the motivational speaker witnessed a man with a knife open the driver’s door and threaten to kill her. She had just parked her car and was going to get her laundry from the passenger seat when the man suddenly appeared. Alison followed instructions because she was afraid. She was still inside the car when the man took over and drove off.

After a brief pause, the man said, “I just want to use your car for an hour; I don’t want to hurt you.” He introduced himself as Clinton at the time. However, additional research reveals that Frans du Toit is his genuine name. He then traveled to the city’s outside to get his colleague Theuns Kruger.

The automobile came to a stop in a desolate place, and the two men approached Alison Botha, offering to have sex with her and asking whether she would fight back. Alison Botha was raped, stabbed, and left to die. Alone and terrified, Alison answered no.

After taking turns raping her, the two decided to kill her. Theuns Kruger and Frans du Toit had a history of abusing women. They attempted, but failed, to suffocate her to death. She was still breathing even though she had just lost consciousness.

The Story of How Alison Botha Withstood The Attack And Lived To Tell It

Alison was raped and viciously attacked, and she had no chance of survival. But at least now she could identify those who had hurt her, she reasoned to herself, writing their names in the sand beneath the words “I love Mom.”

Even after experiencing such cruelty, Alison knew she wouldn’t give up trying because she was a warrior. “There was so much I still wanted to do, so much I wanted to live for,” she said to herself.

When AD Botha noticed her intestines were overflowing, she began to crawl. Using her denim shirt, which she had located, she connected the organs. She stated, recalling the incident:

It was time to get going. With one hand clutching the garment, I slithered across the broken glass and dirt. I was getting more and more exhausted with each motion. I eventually passed out and fell to the sand.

Moreover:

However, as soon as my mother crossed my mind, I realized I had to continue. I got back up and tried to crawl again, but it was taking too long. At that moment, I realized I had to stand up.

The infamous rapists were apprehended and given life sentences.

When Alison was questioned by the authorities in the hospital, she assisted in identifying the perpetrators. Following their arrest, the two were found guilty on eight counts, including attempted murder, rape, and kidnapping.

In August 1995, Port Elizabeth High Court Judge Chris Jansen sentenced them to life in jail without the prospect of release.

Is Alison a married woman? Who Is Her Spouse?

Tienie Botha proved to be Alison’s love. February 1997 saw the couple walk down the aisle. Since then, they have been together and have been living a contented and joyful married life.

When it came to their meeting, they had been acquainted for a while. One year after the attack, the two got together at the home of a mutual friend. Tienie was also experiencing depression at that time due to past trauma. In a similar vein, Alison was experiencing something similar. Recalling what she said at the time:

“I believe that while we assisted one another in escaping the “dark,” our friendship grew stronger because of our shared need. It was just the most natural thing for us to talk about the future, knowing that we would spend the rest of our lives together. Nothing special happened, no turning point in my life that let me realize he was “the one.”

Tiene and Alison are fortunate to have two boys. On November 14, 2003, the motivational speaker gave birth to her first kid, Danial Botha, and on November 14, 2006, she welcomed her second son, Matthew Botha, three years later.
