Murdaugh III returned to Hampton to work at his father’s law firm after completing his studies. He rose to the position of Assistant Solicitor for the 14th Circuit within the Company. Randolph assumed the position of Solicitor of the 14th Circuit after his father resigned in 1986 and held it through the end of 2005. In addition, he spent more than eight decades working as the 14th Circuit’s solicitor. In 2006, Randolph returned to Peters, Murdaugh, Parker, Eltzroth & Detrick, P.A.
Likewise, Alex’s father served as the South Carolina Solicitors Association’s President. Randolph also worked in different capacities, and for his outstanding performance, he received some accolades. The Wade Hampton Athletic Hall of Fame accepted him as a member.
