The three sisters who make up the group are Este Haim, Danielle Haim, and Alana Haim. A group of three sisters led by Danielle sings lead vocals, with the help of the other siblings on instruments and on vocals.
The group has been making songs for approximately ten years. They typically collaborate with several producers, Rechtshaid being one of them. A grammy-winning producer has worked with Beyoncé, Madonna, Adele, Charli XCX, Justin Bieber, Solange Knowles, and U2. Yet it’s probable that HAIM is the person he values most. This is a result of his friendship with the lead singer of the band.
Danielle Haim and Ariel Rechtshaid
Rechtshaid first encountered Danielle in 2012. On January 28, 2021, the singer discussed how she initially met her partner in an interview with NME.
Danielle was familiar with Rechtshaid’s music before meeting him. She initially heard Cass McCombs’ “County Line” and went in quest of the creator. She learned the name of Rechtshaid and was enthralled by his skills. A few weeks later, she heard Usher’s “Climax.”
She found out that Rechtshaid had composed the song once more. The two soon met after she told her managers that she wanted to see the producer.
Although they had chemistry and had recorded a few songs together, nothing had happened between them up until that moment. When Rechtshaid was in the city mastering records and HAIM was on a press tour in London, they crossed paths.
The producer continued, “It was a long build-up after that, but I think it was when Danielle and I just felt this connection.” And the rest is history, as they say. Although none of them had specified when their relationship started, it is clear that they do. Danielle isn’t extremely social media active, but Rechtshaid frequently posts pictures of his girlfriend on Instagram.
Cancer of Ariel Rechtshaid
A testicular cancer diagnosis was made in 2015 as the Grammy-winning producer was working on HAIM’s second album, Something to Tell You.
The record was consequently postponed while Rechtshaid received treatment. Yet, neither Rechtshaid nor HAIM made any mention of the cancer that the former was suffering from.
As an explanation for the delay, they didn’t bring it up until after the album was out. The sisters supported their producer and helped him fight the battle throughout his therapy. But tragically, Danielle suffered from mental fatigue throughout that time.
Danielle battled with her boyfriend’s health, the sisters claimed in an interview with The Independent from August 2020. She consequently had depression. Danielle, on the other hand, was helped by her sisters and a therapist to get over her melancholy.
She also discussed her sentiments around her boyfriend’s illness in the song “Summer Girl” by HAIM. Following his illness, Danielle composed it while traveling with her partner. She poured her heart and soul into the song because, of course, she wanted to be there for him.
Danielle Haim was unable to speak publicly about Rechtshaid’s illness since it was not her story to tell. She was pleased, nevertheless, that with the release of their single, listeners could tell “where the music was coming from.” Thankfully, Rechtshaid overcame his disease, and his relationship with his partner is now stronger than ever.
