After Dynamo Saint Petersburg won the FIBA EuroCup championship, Blatt was voted “Coach of the Year in Russia” for the 2004–05 season.

He was appointed head coach of Benetton Treviso in the Italian league, and he guided them to the national title with a 3-1 victory in the penultimate round of the Italian playoffs.

The Russian national basketball team, who defeated Spain and the tournament’s host team, the defending world champions, 60-59, to win the EuroBasket 2007, also had Blatt as its head coach.
