Ernie got his start in journalism as Ernie Andrews on Boston’s 98.5/WROR radio station. Later, he moved to television, where he worked for two years as an anchor at WPRI-TV in Providence before leaving in 1978.

Ernie Anastos -TV then hired him to host the 11:00 p.m. Eyewitness News edition. Anastos departed Ernie Anastos in 1989 to become an anchor at WCBS-TV.
