Hewett moved to California after receiving his high school diploma and started traveling with the well-known band Beverly Hills.
Howard Hewett is still looking for a life partner. A few months later, the singer met his first wife Rainey Riley-Cunningham thanks to the late Don Cornelius, who founded Soul Train.
Cunningham was a dancer on Soul Train and Cornelius’ helper. The marriage between the two resulted in the birth of LaKiva Siani and Rainey Daze.
Hewett was a touring musician who fell in love with another woman while away from home. I wasn’t a good guy, to put it another way. He said, “I was unfaithful,” and he and his wife got divorced in 1993.
Hewett and Mori Molina got a divorce, but he kept performing, and they eventually met at an after-party. The couple’s marital status is unknown, however, they were arrested in January 1986 for drug possession.
Hewett admitted that he was unaware of the nature of Molina’s drug transactions prior to his arrest. His wife received a two-year prison term, but the jury returned a different verdict about his guilt or innocence, leading to his acquittal.
Even though the couple had only been married for two years, it is unclear when they got divorced.
Third and fourth weddings for Howard Hewett
Hewett joined Elektra the next year and began working on the release of his debut solo album. He also collaborated with other artists at this time and met Nia Peeples, a multi-talented performer, and singer-songwriter who would become his third wife.
Hewitt was chosen by Peeples’ label for her debut album. They connected immediately after meeting while working on a recording.
The singer, despite his doubts, fell in love with someone who was employed by the music business. Following the release of his self-titled album, the pair got hitched and had a son.
Hewett’s two oldest children were also given to Peeples and Hewett as custody. Peeples claimed that Hewett’s partying and infidelity led to their breakup, but the marriage did not last.
Before getting remarried, the singer was divorced for two years. He was just interested in advancing his solo performing career at this time.
Hewett and caterer Angela Bloom-Hewett have a daughter together named Anissa. Many of his admirers thought he had finally found real love because of how long his fourth marriage lasted.
After 14 years of marriage, they split in 2012 nevertheless. Since then, the singer hasn’t found love.
