All About Paul Hogan | Net Worth, Profession

Paul Hogan

After spending many years in the United States, actor Paul Hogan wishes to return to his native Australia. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, he stated that he cannot return home due to his 24-year-old son with his ex-wife, actress Linda Kozlowski.

As he stated it,

“I miss the people, the atmosphere, and something about Australia that is friendlier and more relaxed that I can’t quite put my finger on.” My final child [Chance] is an American, and he has me all to himself, whereas my tribe at home has everyone.”

In the 1990s, when his ex-mother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer, Hogan relocated to the United States. He told the newspaper he had “felt homesick for years,” but he desires to remain close to his younger child.

Paul reported that he now has ten grandchildren who are all adults. He added that he is currently his son’s only family member.

Paul continued on,

“Everyone in his ensemble, including his musical friends and lovers, is American. Therefore, I am extending my stay, but I will return eventually.”

He told Sunrise in 2021 that he rarely left his $4.5 million residence in Venice Beach since the outbreak of the pandemic and the increase in homelessness and crime in the area.

Paul reported being uneasy in Los Angeles and unable to return to Australia due to a severe hotel quarantine restriction. He allegedly posted a sign in front of his home that read,

“This is my house, not yours.”

In a November 2021 interview with Today, he announced that he would be returning home for Christmas. He once admitted that, despite feeling “like a kangaroo in a Russian zoo,” he prefers the anonymity he finds in the United States, which keeps him in Los Angeles.

Net Worth of Paul Hogan

In the Crocodile Dundee film series, Paul Hogan is best known for his portrayal of Michael “Crocodile” Dundee. CelebrityNetWorth estimates the 83-year-old’s net worth to be approximately $20 million as of April 2023.

Over the years, he has earned a great deal of money from his career as an actor and comedian. For his work on the series, he was nominated for an Academy Award and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.

Paul Hogan was able to amass a substantial fortune by independently financing and distributing the Crocodile Dundee series. The budget for Hogan’s first film was $8.8 million, which he funded and distributed himself. It was reported that he had a 60% stake in the total proceeds.

Crocodile Dundee earned approximately $328 million, followed by Crocodile Dundee II ($239 million) and Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles ($39 million). Hogan may have earned approximately $100 million in total box office receipts from his three films.

Prior to his divorce from Kozlowski in 2014 and his dispute with the Australian Taxation Office, it was estimated that Paul Hogan’s net worth was greater than $75 million.

However, this estimate decreased after his divorce from Kozlowski and his legal conflict with the Australian Taxation Office. According to the office, Hogan hid his income from the Crocodile Dundee trademark by utilizing offshore tax shelters.

The tax collector presented him with a $150 million charge, penalties and interest included. In 2006, he won a $5 million judgment against the Australian Crime Commission after proving that the financial information had been unlawfully obtained.

In 2010, he traveled to Australia to attend his mother’s funeral, but he was prohibited from departing until he paid the $37.5 million tax debt.

After Paul Hogan paid tens of millions of dollars in taxes and penalties, Chris Jordan, the Australian Commissioner of Taxation, declared in 2017 that the matter had been resolved.

Hogan later denied the allegations and accused Chris of violating the agreement’s confidentiality clause from 2012.
