George to the Rescue, a popular NBC home improvement show, is coming back. The show is preparing to record an episode about Rebecca Koltun, a spinal cord injury survivor, after airing the first episode of Season 13 on March 26.
The 21-year-old was in a potentially fatal skiing accident in Vermont in 2021. In Episode 2, George Oliphant will be seen making intentional changes while reconstructing her Plainview home to make sure she has a secure living space. George Oliphant, an expert contractor who collaborates with amazing house renovators to repair homes for families and communities, is the star of the home remodeling program George to the Rescue.
Study Up On Rebecca From George to the Rescue
A student studying Spanish and chemistry at Binghamton University, Rebecca Aleck Koltun is 21 years old. The native of Plainview is a confident, capable, funny, and driven young woman who hopes to enroll in a prestigious medical school.
She loves playing soccer and skiing, and she is a crossword puzzle master for the New York Times. Her Instagram is crammed with images of her having fun poolside or taking part in adventure sports with her friends.
The medical student spent six weeks in San Pedro, Costa Rica, in 2019, volunteering, traveling, and taking lessons on children. These activities allowed her to meet amazing people. Both her parents, Scott and Audrey Koltun, and her friends are close to Koltun.
Rebecca was injured horribly in an accident that left her neck paralyzed last year while she was skiing at Stratton Mountain in Vermont with her brother Erik, who is 19 years old. She was immediately transferred to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Her accident shocked a lot of her friends and the Plainview neighborhood. Others decided to start a fundraising campaign to assist with her treatment and medical costs result of this.
On the campaign’s website, Rebecca’s mother voiced her disappointment:
I was told that she had been without oxygen for a long time, which might have caused death or brain damage. I was informed that she wouldn’t make it through the helicopter ride to [Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center] and that a team of at least 20 doctors had done everything they could to save her.
Although she had surgery, the terrible fractures she had sustained would take months to heal. Rebecca currently takes medication and has ongoing treatment.
