Anna Nicole Smith

The life of Anna Nicole Smith will soon be the subject of a Netflix documentary. Here is information about how the stunning model died.

Anna Nicole Smith was renowned as a model. She rose to prominence with provocative Guess advertisements. She passed away unexpectedly in 2007. The life and demise of Anna Nicole are examined in the new Netflix documentary You Don’t Know Me.

Anna Nicole Smith, a supermodel and reality television personality, lived and died in the public eye. Anna Nicole (born Vickie Lynn Hogan) did virtually everything in her adult life with the spotlight on her, from her early campaigns for Guess Jeans to her marriage to tycoon J. Howard Marshall.

The platinum-blonde beauty and native of Texas began her career as a Playboy model in the early 1990s, eventually securing a contract to become the new face of Guess Jeans, superseding legendary ’90s supermodel Claudia Schiffer. In addition, she appeared in films such as The Hudsucker Proxy and Naked Gun 33+13: The Final Insult.

Anna’s first child, Daniel Wayne Smith, was born in 1986, even though she and her husband Billy Wayne Smith were both adolescents when they wed.

After their 1993 divorce, she began dating Howard, an elderly billionaire she had met while stripping. They wed in 1994, and he passed away at age 90 just over a year later.

Anna Nicole was embroiled in a lengthy dispute over her late husband’s estate, which ultimately resulted in her estate receiving nothing from the billionaire’s fortune.

Anna subsequently began dating photographer Larry Birkhead, and in September 2006, she gave birth to their daughter Dannielynn Birkhead. On September 6, 2006, just three days later, Daniel, her son, perished from a drug overdose.

Following tragedy after tragedy in her life, the stunning model passed away in February 2007, months later. Here is everything you need to know about the cause of Anna Nicole Smith’s demise.

When did Anna Nicole Smith die?

Anna Nicole Smith passed away on February 8, 2007, at age 39. Her death occurred at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, just five months after the delivery of her only daughter and the passing of her only son.

What was taking place in her life?

As previously mentioned, at the time of her death, Anna Nicole was enduring profound grief and major upheaval in her life. She was reportedly beyond devastated by Daniel’s demise at the young age of 20.

“Anna saw herself as both mother and father to Daniel,” her ex-boyfriend and attorney Howard K. Stern told PEOPLE in 2007 following her passing.

“From the moment I met her, everything was dedicated to Daniel. I would say that she died physically last week, but in many respects, she died emotionally when Daniel died.”

Just a few weeks after Daniel’s passing, she fled to the Bahamas and conducted a commitment ceremony with Stern, although they were never legally wed. In the months preceding Danielynn’s demise, they were also reportedly attempting to avoid questions regarding her paternity.

She was also still embroiled in what appeared to be an endless dispute over a portion of J. Howard Marshall’s estate. Stern’s prolonged endeavor, which included appeals, would not conclude until 2014, seven years after her passing.

With whom was she?

Former bodyguard Maurice Brighthaupt (Big Moe) and his wife discovered Anna Nicole’s corpse on the hotel room floor in Florida. He and his wife, who was an emergency nurse, attempted CPR on her before transporting her to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased at 2:49 p.m.

After ten years, Maurice revealed that he was still “haunted” by the traumatic event and the loss of the brilliant and talented Anna. Even though her death occurred ten years ago, I still haven’t entirely accepted it, he reportedly told The Daily Mail in 2017.

“I did everything I could to assist her in her final days and get her medical care, but she refused. She was surrounded by a group of us, and all we did was facilitate her conduct. It took me a decade to realize it, but I was a facilitator. We support these icons. We enable powerful individuals and believe they are larger than life, but we cannot control nature.

“I still have recurring dreams about that day, and I am haunted by the moment I saw her slipping away.”

What was the cause of Anna Nicole Smith’s death?

On March 26, 2007, one month after Anna Nicole’s death, the autopsy report concluded that she died from an accidental overdose of narcotic chloral hydrate. Combined with several benzodiazepines, Benadryl, and Topamax, among other legal medications. While none of the medications in Anna’s system were illegal, others, including Stern, were prescribed to them.

According to Heavy, the autopsy report also indicated that Anna was suffering from “Depression following the recent delivery of a full-term infant and the recent death of an adult son.”
