Since a young age, he had a football obsession
Saliba had a lifelong passion for football. He claimed that he has always liked football and that he played it regularly when he was younger. Since he was three years old, he has had the desire to become a professional player, and this has remained his life’s ambition.

Saliba wasn’t always a formidable opponent. He was a striker till he was 12 years old. He didn’t change positions till he switched clubs. Saliba claims that when his U15s coach Abdallah inquired as to what other position he might play given the abundance of midfielders there, he responded that he might play as a striker.
Saliba did well when put to the test as a defender, as his coach had warned him. His coach informed him that defense would be his new responsibility and that he would sign for it after the match. Since that time, Saliba has played as a defender. Even at Bordeaux, he took a striker test.
