The Conviction of Rae Carruth by Rae Carruth

Michelle Wright, Carruth’s first baby mother, had a rocky relationship with him. She gave birth to his son, Raeeondo, during the former NFL player’s second year at Colorado.

Wright even sued him for child support since he was allegedly an absent parent. Later, they determined that he would pay $2,700 in child support and be a more responsible father. Carruth began an affair with Cherica Adams following. Similar to Wright, she was pregnant with his child.

Eight months into her pregnancy, their relationship worsened. On November 16, 1999, Carruth and Adams attended a theater performance. They returned using two vehicles.

Adams was shot four times minutes after parting ways with his companion. She dialed 911 despite her injuries and placed the blame on her boyfriend. She stated that he stopped in front of her vehicle prior to her being shot.

After reading the report, Rae had an emergency cesarean section to deliver baby Chancellor.

The Chancellor was able to overcome cerebral palsy and cognitive disability. Adams’ injuries killed her. After the event, a $3 million bond was set on Carruth. In 1999, following a countrywide manhunt, Carruth was apprehended.

He hid in the trunk of a car at a Best Western in Tennessee. The trial revealed that he paid Watkins to murder his birth mother because she refused to get an abortion.

Two years later, the former athlete was convicted of murder conspiracy, firing into occupied premises, and attempting to murder an unborn child. He was found not guilty of first-degree murder and given 18 to 24 years in prison. The date of his release was October 22, 2018.

As it was an anonymous check, Saundra, who reared Chancellor following the death of her daughter, was initially unaware of the origin of the money.

She later realized, however, that it had been sent by Carruth. The former NFL athlete has admitted to feeling horrible for everything, but he has not admitted to Adam’s murder. Saundra has forgiven Carruth and the other conspirator despite everything.

Chancellor is also thriving. Despite having a chronic illness, he has gone on and achieved success in life. He graduated from high school in 2021 and moved home with his grandmother.
