Shawn Wayans’ Persona Ray Wilkins Has a Gay Mood
Wayans portrayed Ray Wilkins in the parody movie Scary Movie from 2000. Many people believed that his character was gay even if it wasn’t explicitly stated.
At one time, Ray decided to act gay in a locker room situation. As he changed into a different shirt, he questioned his friend if the yellow vest he was wearing made him appear gay. When his buddy responded negatively, he inquired if it was enough and pushed the bottom of his vest inside and out to bring attention to his chest.
He asked his girlfriend Brenda to dress like a man before they had intercourse in another episode. As if that weren’t enough, Ray also helped one of his male friends. He ran his bathwater, gave him flowers, and on very agitated nights, even slept next to him.
Ray was depicted as a man who claimed to be straight yet behaved like a gay man, to put it briefly. Wayans’ portrayal led many people to believe he was gay.
One thing that refutes charges of LGBT behavior is Wayans’ long-term relationship. He was with Ursula Alberto, a fitness expert. They never wed, although they remained together from 1999 to 2008.
Due to their relationship, they have three kids. In 1999, Laila, their first child together, was born. Marlon Wayans was born in 2004, while Ilia, the second kid, was born in 2002. The couple split four years after the birth of their final child. Since divorcing his baby mom, the Little Man actor hasn’t been seen dating.
Shawn Wayans Denies Being Gay Brother
Since Wayans was portrayed as a gay man in the movie Scary Movie, there was some speculation that he was.
He wasn’t the only person, though, who was affected by the rumors. His younger brother, Scary Movie franchise actor Marlon Wayans, was also said to be gay. The rumors started when Marlon was spotted leaving a bar in 2010 with a transgender woman.
On Twitter, Marlon addressed the query on the sexual preferences of both himself and his brother. He denied the claims and insisted that both he and his brother were straight.
The actor also revealed his relationship status in 2015 and refuted homosexual allegations once more. During an interview with the gay DJs Fernando and Greg of Radio 99.7, Shawn revealed that he was seeing a nurse.
He said that his girlfriend occasionally treated him nicely because she was succeeding at work when the presenters inquired if he always had to pay for the outings.
But that was all he said about relationships. However, the Shawn Wayans gay rumors may be dispelled for the time being. In the lack of reliable confirmation, simple assumptions about someone’s orientation are frequently discouraged.
What’s become of Shawn Wayans?
As of August 2021, Wayans is traveling. He posted on Instagram in January the dates and locations of his Shawn Wayans Comedy Tour.
On August 8, 2021, he is slated to do his final show at the San Jose Improv in San Jose, California. He started his comedy tour once the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions in the US were loosened.
The comic’s caption suggested that the artist was prepared to continue his journey. He urged followers to attend and enjoy themselves.
