A family from Cavan is devastated after their daughter was abducted while they were on holiday in Paris last month.
Amber Victoria Palm, then 17 years old, was on her way to Coupvrey, France, where she was staying at Disney’s Hotel Sante Fe, with her parents and younger brother, when she vanished on August 7, the final day of their vacation.
It is believed that she is with a 17-year-old male, with whom acquaintances allege she had been talking via email for many weeks prior to her disappearance.
In an interview with the Celt, her mother Magdalene said, “We’re trying to remain strong, it has been hard.” I got along well with her. All I have to do is make sure she’s safe. My little child ought to be at home. She is still a minor even if she is my baby daughter.

Police are currently investigating Amber Victoria Palm’s disappearance and trying to find her location. Mactalene said that Amber’s disappearance occurred on an average evening.
Amber and her husband Dennis went to Disneyland to view the light parade, but her younger brother decided to stay at the hotel.
They were both playing in the room and watching TV on their phones when we arrived home. She asked what we had planned for tomorrow.
In order to catch the shuttle bus back to the airport and begin their journey to Ireland, the family made the decision to go to bed early, get up early, have breakfast the next day, and return to the hotel by 2:00 p.m.
Dennis woke up at about three in the morning feeling nauseous. When he saw that the bathroom door was closed, he assumed that his daughter could be inside.
Mactalene continues the story: “I got up to ask her how long she was going to be, and to knock on the bathroom door.” When I rang the doorbell, nobody answered. She was definitely not there when I opened the door.
In a panic, the family began scouring the hotel. We looked all throughout the hotel for her, but we couldn’t find her.
I went to the petrol station that was conveniently located next to the hotel where we were staying to check whether she had visited the store, but she wasn’t there.

The family of a 17-year-old girl who disappeared last month while on vacation in Disneyland Paris has been told by police that she may be “anywhere in the Schengen area” at this time.
Before going missing in August while visiting Paris, Amber Victoria Palm moved to County Cavan in March of last year with her parents and younger brother.
The family, who are from South Africa, has been feverishly trying to contact her ever since.
Even though Amber Victoria hasn’t been in contact since August 10th, her mother Mactalene said this morning on Lunchtime Live that she feels powerless.
She claimed that her daughter had left the hotel in the middle of the night on August 7th and that a security film had shown her meeting a man at a nearby petrol station before leaving.
Before the trip, Amber Victoria had been exchanging messages with the guy over the internet, as she found out from some of her friends.
The guy had just arrived in France by boat the day before, the French officials told her.
She said no one had heard from her since she disappeared. Even though she kept in contact with some of her pals, she said that they hadn’t heard from her since August 10.
“I’m not sure. All I want to know is that she’s safe. Or just give me a call or something.”
