American singer-songwriter Amy Grant perished on July 27 after colliding with a bike in a park in Nashville. When Grant crashed, she was riding her cycle around the Harpeth Hills Golf Course with a friend.
The performer did not experience any severe wounds because she was wearing a helmet. After the collision, she was brought to the emergency room at Vanderbilt Medical Center to have her wounds and abrasions examined. The singer is currently stable, but will likely be hospitalized out of prudence, according to WKRN in Nashville.
Only a few days had passed since the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts had given Amy Grant the Kennedy Center Award. The honorees also include Irish rock band U2, actor George Clooney, and vocalist Gladys Knight in addition to Grant.
