She was a play-by-play announcer for the Lebanon High School boys’ basketball team in New Hampshire a few years later. After the team “battled into the state championship game,” the Boston Globe featured her as “the only female in the state doing play-by-play.” Her ‘big break’ came in 2008, when she was hired to provide play-by-play commentary for the Hawks, the women’s basketball team at the University of Hartford.
