Papi was jogging on the beautiful trails of Mt. Peller, which is home to around 80 bears and has recently had multiple bear assaults.
A 39-year-old hiker who was attacked by a bear in the same region last month recalled his terrifying ordeal of fleeing for his life.
Mountain rescue crews found Papi’s corpse after using dogs to help in their search. According to sources, Papi was discovered dead at the spot with injuries that were consistent with being attacked by a wild animal.
Andrea Maini, the town’s mayor, sent her sympathies and pointed out that experts must ascertain Papi’s demise’s precise reason.
