After TCU defeated Houston 20-13, he was chosen as the MVP of the 2007 Texas Bowl. At April 29, 2011, the Bengals selected Dalton, who will play professionally, in the second round, 35th overall, of the 2011 NFL Draft.

On September 11, 2011, against the Cleveland Browns, Dalton started his first NFL game during the regular season. On November 3, 2011, he received the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month honor for the month of October.
