Andy Rubin is the mastermind behind the creation of Android, an open-source mobile operating system, as well as the founder of Danger Inc. and Android Inc.
After working successfully for nine years at Google, he was asked to quit, according to a surprising news report, because he had been accused of sexual harassment.
Later, he founded further businesses like Playground Global and Essential Products. Rubin, a former Google executive, has a net worth estimated to be over $350.0 million, and he is presently disputing the accusations made against him.
As more and more sexual predators are exposed for their callous crimes throughout the world, it’s a long overdue step in the right direction for victims of sexual harassment.
Another well-known figure accused of sexual harassment in America is Andy Rubin, sometimes known as the “Father of Android.”
The mobile operating system that powers smartphones all over the world, Android, was developed by Andy Rubin, an American programmer, engineer, businessman, and venture capitalist.
He was the former CEO and co-founder of Android Inc., the organization that created the Android operating system.
Google bought Android Inc. in 2005, and Rubin worked there until October 31, 2014, when he quit to found a business that supports the growth of hardware start-ups.
At the time of his departure, Rubin promised the media that he would spend more time working on start-ups and charitable endeavors.

Rubin Founded a Number of Businesses
Rubin first gained notoriety in the tech industry by creating and rising to the position of CEO at two software firms, Danger Inc. and Android Inc.
He became the organization’s senior vice president for mobile and digital content after selling Android Inc. to Google for $50.0 million.
At Google, he Was a Giant Star
According to a story from The New York Times, Rubin received a base salary of more than $20.0 million a year at his height. He reportedly received a $14.0 million loan from Google in 2012 to help him purchase beach property in Japan.
Rubin reportedly received the loan at less than 1% interest, which is far lower than the going rate. According to reports, Rubin was given a $40.0 million bonus and an extra $72.0 million in stock that was to be paid to him over the course of two years in 2013.
Later in 2013, Rubin took over management of Google’s robotics branch, which later started acquiring robotics firms including Boston Dynamics. When Rubin received a $150.0 million stock grant in September 2014 that was to be paid over several years, he was adequately compensated, according to sources.
Rubin’s cookie started to break not long after that. He was the subject of a sexual harassment claim, which Google investigated internally and determined to be credible. CEO Larry Page apparently personally requested Rubin’s resignation in 2014, and Rubin reportedly agreed.
Rubin was awarded a substantial severance package
Rubin received a very large severance package from Google. They allegedly granted Rubin a $90.0 million severance payment despite not being required to by law, according to sources.
Google was reportedly required to pay $2.5 million per month for the first two years of the package agreement and then $1.25 million per month for the following two years.
He founded further businesses
Even though Rubin had been fired from Google, his mind was working overtime, and he began doing what came naturally to him: developing new technology and founding new businesses. He joined the Android phone start-up Essential Products and contributed to its creation.
In addition, Rubin co-founded Playground Global, where he later rose to the position of CEO, and joined Redpoint Ventures as a partner.
According to the Times, Google was forgiving of Rubin and enabled him to put off repaying the $14.0 million loan they had previously provided him for the beach mansion in Japan.
In Los Altos, California, Rubin and his ex-wife, Rie Rubin, also owned and ran Voyageur du Temps, a bakery and cafe. In September 2018, it ceased operations.
Rubin Lists His Beautiful Home for Sale
Rubin’s wealth undoubtedly made it simple for him to purchase real estate and lead an opulent lifestyle. But at the beginning of 2018, Rubin listed his lovely home in Woodside, California, for sale for $34.6 million.
The 6.4-acre property has a main house with 6,000 square feet, a guest cottage with two bedrooms, and an entertainment pavilion. The house has three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a spa, a sports court, a clay tennis court, a tree house, and a vineyard. It was built in 2003.
The estate includes substantial gates and a long road that leads to two garages that can each hold three vehicles.
Rubin Is Fighting Sexual Harassment Charges
Currently, Rubin is defending himself against sexual harassment claims made by a Google employee who alleges that Rubin forced her to perform oral sex for him in a hotel room in 2013.
Rubin asserts that he never engaged in any inappropriate behavior while working at Google and that every connection he had was mutually agreed upon.
Time Will Tell
Nobody knows how the dispute, which is still in its early stages, will impact Rubin’s standing in his profession. With an estimated net worth of $350.0 million, Andy Rubin has the financial wherewithal to fight any protracted legal battle that might develop.
He may still be referred to as the “father of Android,” but the aura that once surrounded him has definitely faded.
