Angus Cloud, Who Played ‘Fez’, Has Died At The Age Of 25

Angus Cloud, the 25-year-old protagonist of the HBO blockbuster series Euphoria, has passed away. According to a publicist, Cloud, who portrayed drug dealer Fezco “Fez” O’Neill in the adolescent drama, passed away on Monday at his family residence in Oakland, California.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human being today,” Cloud’s family stated in a statement.

According to his family, Cloud interred his father last week and was “struggling with mental health.”

“The only consolation we have is that Angus is now reunited with his father, who was his best friend,” read the statement.

We hope that his departure will serve as a reminder to others that they are not alone and that they should not fight this battle in silence.

No cause of demise has been provided. Two weeks ago, Cloud posted an Instagram photo of his father with the caption “Miss you, bro.”

A source close to Cloud’s family told Entertainment Tonight that Cloud “had been battling severe suicidal thoughts” after returning from Ireland, where he attended his father’s funeral.

ET reported that Cloud was residing with family as he attempted to overcome his sorrow.

We are deeply grieved to hear of Angus Cloud’s departure. HBO said in a statement, “He was incredibly accomplished and a beloved member of the HBO and Euphoria family.

“We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”

Cloud had small roles in the movies North Hollywood and The Line. He had also appeared in music videos for Becky G, Karol G, and Juice WRLD, among others.

However, his career took off once he earned the role of Fez, a high school drug distributor, in the film Euphoria.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the role made Cloud a breakout celebrity, and his character was expanded in the second season.

According to a 2019 interview with GQ, Cloud never aspired to be a celebrity or even an actor.

Also, According to the publication, he formerly worked at a chicken and waffle restaurant, where he was one day unexpectedly approached by a casting agent.

“I was confused and didn’t want to give her my phone number,” Cloud told GQ. “I thought it was a scam.”

In 2022, Euphoria was the most-tweeted-about U.S. television program of the decade, having debuted in June 2019 and rapidly gaining popularity.

The primary character, portrayed by Zendaya, is a 17-year-old who struggles with substance addiction and is depicted ingesting fentanyl and injecting morphine.

In a 2022 interview with TMZ, Cloud defended allegations that the program glorified drug use.

His Euphoria co-star Javon “Wanna” Walton, who played Cloud’s adoptive sibling Ashtray on the show, posted on Instagram:

“Rest easy brother.”

California congresswoman Barbara Lee lamented the loss of “Oakland’s own” on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“His extraordinary talent impacted the lives of innumerable individuals. His achievements and legacy will continue on in perpetuity and make Oakland proud,” she wrote.

Kerry Washington, an actress, also posted on the site: “You will be sorely missed. Rest in authority”
