Rick Belsky, Ann Belsky’s widow and actor, opted to take a sabbatical from acting and Hollywood after her death. Aside from his wife’s death, the obvious explanation was that he wished to devote his complete attention to his children. Later that year, in an interview with USA Today, Rick stated,

In ’96 or ’97, I decided to stop creating movies.

Rick stated that as a result of all of this, he has decided to take a little hiatus. However, the Toronto-born actor confesses that the brief sabbatical developed into a lengthier one. Moranis, on the other hand, claims he didn’t miss acting at all. Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves, a direct-to-video sequel, was one of his final endeavors before taking the leap.

Following that, he would only make rare voice appearances. Brother Bear, a 2003 Disney animated film, was one such example. Rick did receive offers from Hollywood in between his break and Belsky’s widow. The actor, on the other hand, declined to take any.

Ann Belsky’s Husband Is Back In The Movies

Moranis did return to the stage. His first role, however, was not in a film or on television, but rather in a commercial video for Mint Mobile opposite Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds.

Reynolds even took to Twitter to make the announcement. Rick Belsky’s first interview after his return occurred in May 2020 on Disney+ Prop Culture, a docuseries.

Is a sequel to Honey I Shrunk The Kids in the works; Will Belsky’s Husband Return?

Moranis has agreed to return to the Shrunk series as Wayne Szalinski. The first disclosure occurred in February 2020. The film would formally mark Belsky’s husband’s comeback to live-action cinema after a 20-year absence.

The confirmation came months before he featured in a Mint Mobile commercial alongside Reynolds. In terms of the film itself, only a handful or two pieces of information have been released, particularly regarding how Rick’s character, Wayne, will continue in the next sequel.

In early 2022, for example, Josh teased fans with an Instagram post showing the late Belsky’s husband. In terms of the plot, it is said to add a twist to the original storyline. Insiders say that, unlike the original film, the sequel will begin with Gad’s character accidently reducing his own children.
